We are now looking to recruit to the role of Casual Burnley FC Women Junior Teams Assistant Coach.

The successful applicant will deliver some, part or all of the coaching session for the Burnley FC Women junior football programme. They will also identify talented female footballers and individuals involved in the projects and refer those individuals to appropriate destinations.

There will also be an opportunity to complete additional hours with other projects.

Reporting to the Female Football Development Officer the Casual Burnley FC Women Junior Teams Assistant Coach will be expected to:

  • Assist the head coach with training sessions and match day tasks.
  • Deliver some, part or all of the coaching session for the Burnley FC Women junior football programme.
  • Tackle the underrepresentation of females in sport, via the delivery of awareness workshops, that aim to focus on heightening the profile of the female game.
  • Partake in the crucial processes of monitoring and evaluation, to ensure that the progress / impact of any given provision is reporting to key funders in a timely and effectively manner. This includes the use of regular registers and the Views platform.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to this role.
  • To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.
  • To work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Comply with all Charity policies.
  • Promote the Burnley Football Club in the Community and Burnley Football Club brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
  • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
  • Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
  • A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality and diversity training.

An ideal candidate will have;


  • FA Level 1 Certificate in Football.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
  • Full clean driving license with access to own transport.
  • A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
  • Experience of planning and delivering regular football coaching sessions.
  • Confident networker.
  • Good persuasive skills, which can be delivered with integrity and honesty.
  • A positive, “can do” attitude and flexible approach.
  • A passion for community and making a difference.
  • A commitment to the aims, vision and values of Burnley FC in the Community.
  • Good judgement and knowing when to seek advice or support.
  • Creative in problem solving situations together with a willingness to take on or try new approaches and ideas.
  • Enthusiasm, energy and resilience.
  • A passion for sport.
  • A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
  • Willingness to have a full DBS check.


  • FA Level 2 Certificate in Football (or working towards).
  • Experience of managing a football team.
  • Experience of coaching junior players.
