An update from BFCitC

An update from BFCitC

Following the latest government announcement on Monday 4th January regarding COVID-19 restrictions and the lockdown, we want to take this opportunity to update you on Burnley FC in the Community’s projects.

In line with the latest advice, we will be ceasing all face-to-face delivery therefore temporarily postponing the below programmes.

  • Bertie’s Footy Stars
  • All Premier League Kicks sessions
  • Veterans sessions
  • Shadow Youth Team & Girls’ Post-16 Academy provision
  • Burnley FC Women training and matchdays
  • All other female football sessions

For participants of BFCitC programmes, your relevant contact at the charity will be in touch with you to discuss the postponement.

We will also be closing the doors of The Leisure Box and Whitehough Outdoor Centre until further notice.

The safety of staff, participants and the wider community is of the upmost importance to us and therefore while times are difficult, we encourage supporters to follow the government guidelines and stay safe.

Though face-to-face delivery of sessions may have ceased currently, as a charity we are still here for the local community and many of our programmes will still be delivered virtually and safely within the guidelines.

The Burnley Community Kitchen will remain open during this tough time to ensure that the people most in need in our town are supported. If you require a food parcel please contact Burnley Together on 01282 686 402 or visit burnleytogether.org.uk

Keep an eye out on our website and social media channels, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, over the coming weeks as while we may have distance placed between us, we will continue to share ideas and suggestions with the aim to help you maintain good physical and mental health. We will also be closely monitoring the guidelines and will post any updates regarding the recommencement of our charity activities accordingly.

We acknowledge it’s a challenging time for everybody at the moment. If you are struggling please reach out, there are several organisations available to talk to including;

Finally, we want to take this time to say thank you for all your ongoing support. Please stay safe and take care.
