BFCitC partner with LSCFT to enhance health and wellbeing initiatives

Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) are delighted to announce a formal partnership with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) which will support each other’s work through health and wellbeing initiatives.

BFCitC and LSCFT will introduce an enhanced offer for service users and their families in East Lancashire, through increased access to physical activity, health checks, wellbeing campaigns and support in making improved lifestyle choices. The partnership also aims to reduce social isolation through community integration programmes and to build on Burnley FC in the Community’s current offers.

Michael Colquhoun, Director of Community Projects at Burnley FC in the Community stated “We are really pleased to announce this partnership with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust and this gives real credibility to our Health and Wellbeing work. We have worked hard to build our Health and Wellbeing offers in recent months to cater for all individuals in the community beyond our flagship Extra Time and No Nay Never Forget programmes, and this will only add to our ambitious vision and plans for the future”.

Jane Munton-Davies, Director of Operations for Pennine Network, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCft) added: “We are delighted to be involved in this partnership with Burnley FC, enabling local services to reach out to our communities and improve opportunities to engage with vulnerable people, supporting and helping people to keep well at the heart of where they live.

“We recognise the importance of working together in promoting mental health, physical health and wellbeing reflects our vision of supporting our local communities by excelling in everything we do together.”
