Call out for tradespeople to help at our community facilities!

Are you a local tradesperson? Could you offer your time to help us at our community facilities?

Burnley FC in the Community are on the lookout for tradespeople to help us with various jobs, including plumbing, joinery, and general DIY, at our community facilities Whitehough Outdoor Centre and Burnley Community Kitchen & foodbank.

As a charity, facilities play a key role in our work in the local community. Whitehough Outdoor Centre, nestled in the picturesque Pendle countryside, delights hundreds of visitors each year, including local schoolchildren, Veterans and a wide range of charity participants, ensuring the benefits of outdoor education are accessible for all.

Burnley Community Kitchen based in the town centre, houses the foodbank, a community café, teaching kitchen and retail area. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the foodbank has faced a significant increase in demand, distributing over 5,800 food parcels, feeding over 13,000 people, of which 5,000 were children. In addition to this, the facility has supported other charities and foodbanks, distributing much-needed supplies to feed a further 2,000 people.

We aim for our facilities to be tangible spaces that make a positive difference to the lives of the local community, and any help from tradespeople, in supporting with works such as shop fitting, plumbing and installing security shutters, would be very much appreciated.

For more information or if you are in the position to help, we would love to hear from you! Please contact, Whitehough Centre Manager Sara Parsons on or call 07934 854899.
