The role

 

We are now looking to recruit to the role of BFC Women Juniors Coach for the 2022/23 season. The successful applicant will coach four age groups within the Junior set up at U10/U12s/U14s/U16s. Players train during the week and play weekend fixtures during the months of August – May. Each year, players are required to attend trials to try and secure a place within their respective age groups. The trials are well attended and highly competitive.

 

Role expectations

 

  • Reporting to the Football Development Manager the Juniors Coach will be expected to:
  • Engage, inspire and empower the female players to reach their full potential.
  • Engage and liaise with parents about training, fixtures and event details
  • Evidence detailed session plans that link to the BFC Women Junior curriculum
  • Produce Mid-season Individual player development plans (IDP’s) for the team
  • Deliver high-quality sessions that engage, enthuse, challenge and progress the players.
  • To help monitor and evaluate the programme & have an input into the future design of programme delivery.
  • Identify talented individuals involved in the projects and refer those individuals to appropriate destinations.
  • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
  • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.
  • To work towards agreed objectives.
  • Comply with all Charity policies.
  • Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
  • Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
  • Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
  • Willingness to attend training courses to enhance own professional development.

An ideal candidate will have;

Essential:

 

  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Football Coaching
  • Experience of working with Female Players for several years
  • Have experience working with a team in a competitive environment
  • An understanding and passion for planning and delivering high quality specific sessions that link to a curriculum
  • An understanding of the players wants, challenges and needs
  • An understanding of Safeguarding procedures.
  • A passion for the community and making a difference within the women’s game

Desirable:

  • UEFA B Licence Award in Football Coaching – or working towards
  • Knowledge of the FA women’s football strategy
  • Experience of working with female players ages 8-16 in a competitive environment.
  • Talent ID process
  • Have the ability to stretch and challenge players learning & development
