Padiham-based Hardy Services has become the first signing of the off-season for Burnley FC in the Community as they pledge their support to the Clarets’ official charity.
Hardy Services has a mission to help towards the prevention of social and environmental challenges by raising money for various national charities, including Water Aid, Macmillan and the Alzheimer’s Society.
As a family-run local business employing over 20 staff locally, the company also takes recommendations from staff on the local charities to support – and the work of Burnley FC in the Community has caught the eye of the team.
“We have an independent foundation set up to support those charities closely linked to in our line of work and those that our employees and families support,” commented Sonia Dewhurst, HR Manager at Hardy Services.
“Sharing our employees’ passion to support local charities drives us as a company to do our part for communities.
“Many of our employees are passionate about supporting charities close to their heart and we are delighted, as a company, to make a financial contribution to Burnley FC in the Community so they can sustain and expand their work in our communities.”
To launch the partnership, Matt Parish Director of Education and Inclusion at Burnley FC in the Community hosted the Hardy Services monthly meeting at Turf Moor, outlining the work of Burnley FC’s official charity. Matt also presented the opportunities Hardy Services employees and families have to get involved in BFCitC’s many community projects.
“It was great to host the Hardy Services staff here at Turf Moor,” commented Matt.
“I think the scope of our work surprises people, as well as the sheer range of individuals we engage with. To offer this insight to the Hardy Services staff was brilliant – it gives us a platform to reach even more people. We are delighted to have them on board as a Friend of Burnley FC in the Community.”
