Burnley FC in the Community is delighted to announce that, from September, the charity will be operating the full portfolio of sports facilities at Nelson and Colne College.
The move will see Burnley FC in the Community oversee the operation of the College’s full-size external 3G pitch and indoor six-court sports hall. The facilities will be for community sports groups and grassroots clubs to enjoy and will be managed by Burnley FC in the Community from 6pm–10pm weekdays and throughout weekends.
This new development is an expansion of the two organisations’ already thriving relationship. Now collaboratively working together for over two years, both Burnley FC in the Community and Nelson and Colne College also jointly deliver the Burnley FC Shadow Youth Team provision that will, from September, see over 100 (both male and female) students embark on the two-year course that combines academic studies with practical footballing experience.
Matt Parish, Director of Education and Inclusion at Burnley FC in the Community, said: “We are delighted to be enhancing our relationship with Nelson and Colne College through this new facilities development.”
“We are two very like-minded organisations; we share a ‘can-do’ attitude, a mutual trust and a strong desire to drive forward opportunities for young people in our local area. I’d like to thank the team at Nelson and Colne College for helping make this happen – we’re very excited to get started with this next phase of our partnership!”
Burnley FC in the Community is now taking enquiries and bookings for the sports facilities at Nelson and Colne College and welcome interest from local sports group and grassroots clubs. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01282 704716.
