As demand increases, Burnley FC in the Community can announce that our popular ‘No Nay Never Forget’ and Extra Time groups are coming to Accrington and the Ribble Valley.
Following the success of sessions which take place in Burnley, and due to significant demand in the wider area, we are expanding the programmes for residents in other areas of East Lancashire.
‘No Nay Never Forget’ offers a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where people with dementia, Alzheimer’s and memory loss as well as their carers can come together and share experiences.
As well as the great activities, it also gives carers and people with dementia a chance to get information, advice and talk to others in a similar situation.
Activities include, jigsaws puzzles, board games, dominoes and much more, plus a selection of refreshments are available.
BFCitC recently received coverage in partnership with Premier League Communities and Alzheimers Society highlighting the importance of programmes like these for those affected with dementia. As well as this, colleagues Mike and Gwil did a charity bike ride to raise funds specific to the programme, which has helped enable the expansion.
