Burnley FC in the Community’s Friends of scheme is going from strength to strength and held a second ‘Friends of Get Together’ recently.
Hosted at the offices of Silver Patron of Burnley FC in the Community Birchall Foodservice, the get together proved an opportunity for the local corporate supporters of Burnley FC’s official charity to come together and hear more about how their donation to the charity is making an impact and changing lives in the local community.
After a welcome from Business Development Executive Ryan Bradley, attendees enjoyed presentations from BFCitC Health and Wellbeing Manager, Abby Turner and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Paul France.
Abby talked to the group about the charity’s thriving health programme and it’s lead vehicle Active Clarets, offering wellbeing programmes including both Men and Women’s Healthy Weight Management programmes, Walking Football, Schools’ Healthy Eating, Extra Time social sessions for the over 50’s and Claret in Mind offering sporting provision to those living with mental health problems.
Through the Active Clarets programme, the BFCitC Health team are committed to reducing mental and physical health inequalities in Burnley and the surrounding areas. Working alongside specialist providers and leaders in the field, local people can enjoy programmes that make vital changes to their lifestyle and overall improvements to health and wellbeing.
Following this, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Paul France talked to the group about the exciting plans the charity has to expand its portfolio offering.
Business Development Executive, Ryan Bradley said: “Getting all of our partners together and updating them on the impact they are helping us to achieve is really important to us.”
“We want our Friends and Patrons to understand what we do and support by volunteering their time and expertise to our participants wherever suitable.”
“We have some great examples of how we have developed strong working partnerships so far and I’m sure we will have many more going forward.”
There are various ways local companies can support the work of Burnley FC in the Community, whether by becoming a Friend of Burnley FC in the Community pledging £1,000 to the charity, companies can be reassured their Corporate and Social Responsibility agenda is hit, enjoy regular networking events such as the Friends of Get Togethers, ongoing PR and Marketing opportunities and a link to a Premier League Club.
