We have a range of free Weight Management programmes which run throughout the year, including female only, male only, and mixed gender sessions.
Our 12-week programmes combine healthy lifestyle education and support with weekly one-hour physical activity sessions encompassing circuit training and different sports. The programmes are suitable for varying ages and ability levels.
Below is just a selection of the feedback that we’ve received on our programmes so far:
Mick (51): “It’s hard work but enjoyable. A good range of fitness exercises… I have benefited from the course mentally and physically.”
Laura (26): “I’m not a major gym fan so doing this programme each week showed me exercises I could do at home easily. The programme was motivating and different each week and has given me the motivation, confidence and support I need. Everyone who signs up is in the same boat regardless of age, size etc. We’re all there to support each other!”
The recent Coronavirus outbreak meant that we weren’t able to deliver our usual face-to-face sessions. However, during lockdown we were able to deliver two online 4-week Healthy Lifestyles Programmes, with great success.
109 participants enrolled on the programmes delivered through closed Facebook groups, which included weekly live workouts, mindfulness videos, healthy lifestyle tips, and lots of people sharing their own advice and encouragement.
“I decided to sign up to the programme as I enjoy keeping active and having some ‘me time’. I was missing my fitness classes and found myself feeling less motivated.
“I enjoyed the support from other participants, and it has helped me focus on staying motivated.”
“I am still working as a Nurse, so I found the workouts and mindfulness sessions particularly good for de-stressing and winding down after work.
“The live workouts were really good, especially knowing that others were joining in at the same time and we were doing it together as a virtual ‘team’.
“I was a little sceptical about signing up at first, but I have enjoyed it, especially as there is support and encouragement from others in the group!”
