Physical activity has been reported as one of the key factors in improving overall health for older people. It can help improve muscle strength, balance, and coordination which in turn helps to prevent falls, maintain bone health and preserve physical fitness.
Our Extra Time Active sessions aim to improve social, mental, and physical wellbeing through weekly two-hour sessions. For only £4, senior citizens can enjoy activities like table tennis, badminton and walking football, as well as tea, coffee, cake, and plenty of chat!
Extra Time Active runs every Thursday morning from 10:00 – 12:00 at The Leisure Box.

By Bus: M5 route from Nelson or Burnley to Brierfield Town Hall then five minutes walk via Bridge Street (opposite the Town Hall) to Glen Way.
By Train: Nelson Interchange, Burnley Central or Burnley Barracks to Brierfield Station then five minutes’ walk via Glen Way.
