There was plenty of Christmas spirit at Turf Moor on Thursday evening as Burnley FC in the Community and Churches Working Together again joined forces to host the annual Christmas Carol Concert.
Hundreds of people from our local communities were welcomed to the event by the Clarets’ Community Choir singing Christmas classics such as Elton John’s ‘Step Into Christmas’ and John Lennon’s ‘War Is Over’.
Following the opening performance, Mayor of Burnley Charles Briggs, who was accompanied by Julie Cooper MP, officially opened the evening with a speech.
Backed by the brilliant Burnley Alliance Silver Band, the crowd were also treated to several performances of carols like ‘Away in a Manger’ and ‘Silent Night’ and a nativity scene by children from local primary schools St Stephen’s CE and St James’ CE.
After the excellent performances, each choir and the audience received a thank you message from the Bishop of Burnley Philip North.
Burnley FC in the Community were pleased to once again work with Churches Working Together to bring the whole community together at this established event to celebrate the festive season!
