Kevin Long joins the celebrations at Education event

Burnley FC defender Kevin Long was recently the surprise guest at Burnley FC in the Community’s Premier League (PL) Enterprise and Achieving Moor celebration event!

Both of these BFCitC Education programmes engage with a combined 15 secondary schools/other educational establishments, whether that be through our PL Enterprise Challenge, our Achieving Moor group interventions or our Moor Mentoring one-to-one interventions.

And to celebrate the success throughout the 2017/18 academic year, the Clarets’ star Long visited over 140 of our participants at two secondary schools – Fisher More RC High School and Pendle Vale College.

Kevin shared his journey as a professional football player, before holding a Q and A, posing for photos and signing autographs.

Jack Ormesher, BFCitC’s Premier League Enterprise Coordinator, said: “It’s great to see the impact that the programmes have had on the groups and how they’ve increased their aspirations and skills.

“It was also brilliant to have Kevin Long on hand to support the celebrations at two local schools to reward the participants for their involvement and hard work on PL Enterprise and Achieving Moor. You could see smiles on many faces as they were presented with their certificates and prizes.”

Burnley FC in the Community would like to thank all our PL Enterprise and Achieving Moor partner schools throughout 2017/18.
