Through October, Burnley FC in the Community held a special competition for Primary Stars schools, where they were asked to demonstrate how they follow the four Primary Stars values; Be Ambitious, Be Inspired, Be Connected and Be Fair.
Our schools came up with some great entries, sharing many photos and videos demonstrating the values which made it a tough decision for the judges to select a winner!
Water Primary School were chosen as the winners after their great video entry and this was announced by Burnley FC manager, Sean Dyche, you can view his announcement video HERE!
This week, Bertie Bee was on hand to present Water Primary School with their prize of eight brand new mountain bikes and helmets, courtesy of Whitehough Outdoor Centre.
Bertie was greeted by lots of excited students as he delivered the bikes at the school and stopped for some photo opportunities with staff and students!
Chris Willian, Water Primary Headteacher was delighted with the school’s prize:
“Water Primary School’s core values reflect those of Premier League Primary Stars and therefore this competition aligned really well with our vision, curriculum and character education.
“We make sure our children always have continuous access to the outdoors, they love forest school and being active.
“We have wanted to introduce cycling into our PE and Physical Activity Curriculum for a long time, so this is a fantastic introduction to the children, we can’t wait to get them outside on the mountain bikes provided by BFCitC and Whitehough Outdoor Centre.”
