Session two of the Burnley FC Leadership Programme took place last Thursday evening, with over 50 attendees taking part in a session focused around ‘Mindset’.
The group had an update on ultra-marathon man Scott Cunliffe, who, after speaking in session one about the skills and personal competencies required to run long distances, ran to his 14th away game of the season – all the way to Brighton & Hove Albion FC.
Leadership coach Phil Merrick then delved into theories and strategy around mindset and how this can be applied in day-to-day business settings. With 21 years experience in corporate banking with the Bank of Scotland, published author Phil used examples from the sporting world to bring theories to life.
The session was wrapped up by Andrew Henderson of Success GPS. Previewing next months session on ‘Strategy’, the former Lanway Managing Director talked the audience through his personal journey and how he transformed Lanway’s turnover from £12m to £25m by having a clear and simple strategy that everyone can buy into.
In his new venture, Success GPS, Andrew has helped businesses, charities and schools on their strategy planning journey.
At the next Burnley FC Leadership session, which is running at Turf Moor on Thursday 21st March, delegates will look at strategy planning in more detail, before hearing from employee engagement expert Steve Smith, who will open the thought process on how to get people bought into your strategy.
Sessions cost just £30 (free for Friends of Burnley FC in the Community, our charity’s partner schools and third sector organisations) and you can book online here: http://bookonline.burnleyfccommunity.org/burnley_fc_leadership_programme
