NCS Summer! How you can get involved…

Are you considering applying for our NCS Summer jobs but aren’t sure? Or are you thinking about completing NCS with Burnley FC in the Community?

Whether you’re looking at working on NCS with us or booking on as a participant, Mae Lonsdale’s story will help you make up your mind! Mae has made the journey from NCS Graduate to working as a full time NCS Officer with BFCitC… Check out her story below!

Working on NCS

“Go for it! You’ll never know unless you try. The staffing team are amazing and there’s nothing like seeing the difference in a young person from day one compared to the last day.”

We’re open to all applications from across our communities! Working on NCS will help you gain experience of working with young people while you build your character, challenge yourself and develop transferrable skills.

You will also have the opportunity to take specific NCS Framework, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding training, as well as earning an Emergency First Aid qualification.

The closing date for our multiple roles is Friday 21st February. If you’re interested, would like more information and want to apply, please visit: https://www.burnleyfccommunity.org/about-bfcitc/careers-and-volunteers/work-on-ncs-this-summer/.

Booking onto NCS

“It’s given me loads of transferable skills like confidence and public speaking and it’s made me a lot more adaptable and resilient. I’ve been able to use that in my life; I went to University and I wouldn’t have done anything like that without NCS.”

NCS provides the buzz of being an adult without the responsibility of being an adult. Over a few weeks it gives teenagers a crash course in life skills that inspire them to feel independent.

First up, they’ll meet loads of new people and battle some outdoor adventures together. In the next week, they’ll be staying away from home and taking on challenges like cooking and public speaking.

Finally, they’ll get their entrepreneurial hats on to think up some ways to do good in their local area. After all of that (and a well-deserved party) they’ll be full to the brim with new-found skills, friends, excitement and motivation that stick with them for life. So whatever they want to do with their lives or whatever they want to change in the world, they can.

Got your heart set on doing NCS with BFCitC? You can book your place right now here: https://wearencs.com/sign-up-to-ncs.
