After already running 10k this morning, Scott Cunliffe is now halfway to Southampton’s St. Mary’s Stadium in the first chapter of this season’s RunAway fundraising challenge.
Scott set off with the Mayor of Burnley Councillor Charlie Briggs, who ran with him after Burnley FC’s Europa League second qualifying round second leg tie against Aberdeen FC. Scott has since covered over 122 miles.
He tells us that he expects to reach Banbury today, which is approximately another 50 miles from his current location. His plan for the remaining days is:
Wednesday – Banbury to Oxford (around 20 miles)
Thursday and Friday – Oxford to Winchester (around 45 miles)
Saturday and Sunday – Winchester to Southampton (around 10 miles)
Scott said: “I’ve had the odd twinge in my knee and a few blisters along the way, but I’m feeling strong and have enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve also met some wonderful people on this journey, so thank you everyone for your overwhelming support so far.”
