Impact Report 2021
The 37-page brochure celebrates the work by Burnley FC in the Community’s dynamic team, who provide 50 programmes, ranging from football sessions with young people right through to dementia and loneliness projects for the elderly.
Initiatives include Mental Health provision such as Claret In Mind, Schools’ Mental Wellbeing Project, Education workshops, Premier League Kicks, and much more.
The Covid-19 pandemic has proved to be a difficult time for all of us. However, BFCitC has continued to deliver various programmes to those who need it the most around Burnley, East Lancashire, and West Yorkshire.
It was another challenging year. However, BFCitC were at the forefront of tackling issues and putting smiles on faces.
The Impact Report showcases The Leisure Box, Whitehough Outdoor Centre and Burnley FC In the Community Kitchen facilities that have gone above and beyond over the past 12 months.
Throughout 2021, the Foodbank at the Burnley FC In the Community Kitchen, in partnership alongside Burnley Together, fed 29,012 people.
As a charity, we are proud to have served residents of the town and surrounding areas that have benefitted from our wide range of programmes and projects, and we thank our partners for supporting their delivery.
BFCitC aims to improve lives every single day by using the power of Burnley FC’s brand as a force for good. The Club’s Chairman Alan Pace, Manager Sean Dyche and players, support our Equality and Diversity work through the “One Club For All” ethos.
We encourage all Clarets’ supporters to read the 2021 Impact Report, which provides an opportunity to develop an understanding of Burnley FC In the Community’s programmes and projects.
BFCitC CEO Sara Ward said: “2021 was a year of significant challenges and changes for the charity, but our aim remained the same.
“Once lockdown restrictions were lifted, we were able to return to face-to-face delivery of sessions, and we are proud of the work that our team have contributed to all areas of the Community in Burnley, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
“I would like to place on record my thanks to all of our partners, sponsors and volunteers as well as Burnley FC for their continued support, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”
