Burnley FC in the Community’s United Together project is a unique programme which provides a support package for individuals at risk of re-offending.
Led by BFCitC’s Community Welfare and Inclusion team, sessions focus on strategies to help bring positive change within our community.
Held at The Leisure Box, our state-of-the-art facility located in Brierfield every Tuesday between 4-5pm and offers an opportunity for participants through the power of football and support.
Burnley FC in the Community Works together in partnership with Active Lancashire and Cumbria and Lancashire Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) on the project which focuses on sport and physical activity due to its vital role in the development of team building skills, confidence raising and the fostering of positive new relationships which can help bring about lasting behaviour change.
Martin Payne, Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator at BFCitC, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting our local community through United Together.
“This programme works really well in engaging young men and women at risk of reoffending with support from Burnley FC in the Community and is already very well attended.”
